Education allocates 279.84 million to the concerts and foresees remaining credit before a lag of 20.42 million
As pointed out by the Minister of Education, Fernando Rey, in the presentation this Monday of the budget project of his department for the year 2018, that additional credit contribution will be lower by almost 13 million to the incorporation that was necessary in 2017.
To this he added that this year there has been a renewal of the concerts for the next six years according to the new regulations – until now they were renewed every four years -, with a “slight reduction” in the number of units.
Fernando Rey recalled at all times that one of the keys to equity pursued by his Ministry is through the free election of a center and, as a professor of Constitutional Law, he explained that the Spanish Constitution guarantees the right of parents for their children they receive the religious and moral training that is in accordance with their own convictions, “which is one of the foundations of the existence of concerted education”.
“It is an enormous wealth of the system,” he has defended in this regard to also mean that the PISA report has revealed the homogeneity of the system with “very similar” qualifications in the two types of education, public and concerted, “which is a great news because it eliminates all kinds of negative connotations of one or another education. ” “Let’s not oppose one school to another,” said the counselor, who recalled that “all kinds of families” attend the arranged schools.
“This should make us very proud,” said King who has also noted the “few differences” between the centers of urban and rural areas. In this specific point he has defended that to maintain the rural population the Board must offer the services where they are demanded, and even make them serve as an “incentive” for the settlement of new families.
